Wikipedia is not a very reliable source because alot of people can change what has been written and put false information that can trick users into writting the wrong info. Wikipedia is a source that anyone can change and is not suggested by many teachers as a source for educational information. Many of the wikipedia pages are made by random users who are usually not right and have no proof of what they wrote is true and reliable. Wikipedia can be used as starting point for reaseach but never should it be the main source of information. Wikipedia is also unreliable because the writers of the pages usually are very familiar with the subjet and sometimes they invent the part that they are missing. In conclusion, wikipedia is not to be taken as always true and should be only used as starter information.

On the topic of whether Wikipedia is valid source of information and if it can be trusted their are many different opinions.
First of all and one of the biggest problems concerning this matter is that Wikipedia ( Wiki meaning that anyone can edit) is a site that is accessible by all and anyone who wants and can be edited by anyone with an account, using their real name or anonymous as long as the page is not protected. Thankfully, any errors that were put on a page are quickly seen and corrected and any information giving a personal or bias statement is deleted or changed but some mistakes are unseen. Unfortunately, it has already happened for a person to create a page about a man named “Leon-Robert de l’Astran” a anti-slavery ship owner of the 18th-century who was praised by a presidential candidate who ended up never even existing. This mistake was unnoticed until 3 weeks after being published and was removed. Sadly, since many sites use information from Wikipedia, the false information lasted on the web for a very long time.
Thanks to Wikipedia’s policies, there are less mistakes then many other online encyclopedias and more specialized sources. The policies are:
content (defines the scope of the encyclopedia and the material that is suitable for it), conduct (describes how editors can successfully collaborate and what behavior is acceptable), deletion (explains the processes by which pages, revisions, and logs may be deleted), enforcement (accounts for various means by which standards may be enforced), legal (includes rules influenced by legal considerations, and remedies for their misuse) and procedural (documents various processes by which the English wikipedia operates).
Wikipedia has about 4,391,324 articles in English and over 500 million users. Mistakes done by a user will almost never be noticed because they are quickly deleted, and Wikipedia has articles about many various topics in detail and cover almost any information needed for any kind of research project.
I believe that Wikipedia is a good site to use for our project but our main sources of information should be found else where. Any information should be verified on other sites that have no link to Wikipedia.

My thoughts on Wikipedia varie because it is and isnt a reliable site. Typically if you look up a question and/or subect online most of the time Wikipedia will pop up, it's an amazing site for basic information or a broad overview of the topic. Whereas when you want to go into detail, you should look on other sites to backup Wikipedia's facts. The catch with wikipedia is that anyone and everyone can change any given facts on the site. At the bottom of the page there are the links to all the sources where the information was found, which would be a great place to continue your researching and go into depth with your topic. To conclude I think Wikipedia is a good site but it's information shouldn't be used as a primary source.

Recently, student’s first reaction to unknown information is to look it up on Wikipedia. It is rather a very popular website; with 8.3 million articles and in other 253 languages. People have very different opinions about this site. Basically, one point of view is that Wikipedia is a worthy, reliable website for research. However, others say that the website is completely unreliable because anyone has access to it and can change whatever they’d like and write a bunch of nonsense. Unfortunately, due to the fact that the information is not 100% correct, you should use multiple sources if you really want to go in depth in your subject. In my opinion, even though not all the information is valid, I believe that Wikipedia is a proper site to start of your research with. However people need to take precautions and check the information they are using.

Are wikipedia articles trusted, yes and no for example no because it depends the article like if the article is pretty simple i think that it is going to be obvious so the people will really believe it. Yes because i know that if you create an account on wikipedia you can edit articles by putting whatever he or she wants to honestly in 5 th grade i would use it but the articles were rasy to know and to find the real answer. If you cannot find the right article there are great other articles out there. If i had to pick for a project i would use a book or another website than Wikipedia.

s Wikipedia an unreliable site?
Judging from past research, it is very easy to say that Wikipedia can contain false information. Information such as the incorrect spelling of the subject's name or the History may not be as updated as possible. Knowing that anyone can edit a Wikipedia, does leave one to doubt its accuracy. Although this may not be the case for every article on Wikipedia. By making comparisons with other reliable sources Wikipedia is more often than not reliable. Because Wikipedia is not 100% reliable, it is important to check other sources while researching. This is why Wikipedia is an inconvenient site. I do recommend using this site but always have other sources to complete your research.

In my opinion Wikipedia is very useful because it pretty much knows everything and every famous person or any one who ever did anything extraordinary. I think that society can very well find valuable information on various items or objects. Wikipedia is good for various reasons as I have stated above. However, Wikipedia is pejorative because people can change facts or say untruthful things about other people. People can add information or create a page about themselves. Wikipedia is meliorative ,on the other hand, Wikipedia is pejorative.

Wikipedia is an internet site where it holds lots of information of almost anything. When it is still a great site to start out on your research papers or essays it can also be unreliable. Wikipedia can be unreliable because ANYONE with an account can start writing on it or editing information! This can be bad and result to untruthful information because the writers can just take any information from a random website or their experience and that isn't verified. There's that and also people can input their opinion into their information wether it be right or wrong when they put their own thoughts into the writing it could lead to manipulating you into something that they think. Overall wikipedia is a great place to start and maybe get some basic information but it is definitely not the place to have all your information on.
